      Uninteresting

This campaign has completely no event before the ending, you know what that means.
The map is very detailed, so it's unfriendly to my potato PC. The lowest fps I got is 16.
Great detail doesn't mean no model issues. It seemed that the author have no idea how to connect the separate railings.
The ending is broken in the latest version of the game, I guess. I was told to find 5 correct computers, but the rescue arrived before I finished the task. If the ending works as intended, I think I have to prepare for restarts because there were plenty of computers waiting for me to check.
Another issue is about nav. I noticed that CI can't reach survivors standing on some short objects, that's unfunny.
All in all, it's a cheap campaign, except the map detail.

      Loved It

This is the best ship environment one can find in the world of L4D! The intro showed how great the lightning and color distribution are, but FPS was like 13 which caused some lags. The ship looked so real and I was really afraid that the way was so long that I will end up walking in the swamps as I do hate this environment especially when I know nothing about like where to go and what to do next. I managed to finish this chapter from the first time in 45 minutes on Single Expert Mode and I was really worried when I saw it was only 1 chapter which was also a finale because I took so long to reach the final spot and kept studying where to go and where to stop fighting hordes or where to move when tanks round come and I even discovered more rooms with health kits and ammo. It was a really big ship like a ghost ship :P I read all comments below and knew that there was a tough challenging finale, but for me it was all skipped for reasons I don't know and the chopper came by right after I started the finale and that spot was opened and the container was removed to make the way for me and bots to get on chopper. I experienced some navigation issues with bots like when they badly wanted the laser sight thing and kept jumping over the metal ledge to get to it. A tank was waiting in the beginning and was even startled, but never came to us. Thanks for the experience and sorry to find you retired from mapping. It's really sad to give up on such nice campaigns. Not the only map I encounter to see it unfinished in a way. As long was it was meant to be only 1 chapter and the finale is in the same chapter although it was mentioned that you began with the finale and there were another 2 chapters waiting, I see that 4 stars is a fair rating for such work...Good Luck!

      Review

Whilst I loved the environmental design, (it was brilliant.) The experience I can't say the same about, which was a buggy mess. So what ended up happening to me was, a charger knocked one of the bots onto an area with no navmesh, which was just a few feet off the ground, on some consoles. So I said screw him and went on to continue. What happened next, unfortunately, was the two bots who were following me ended up getting stuck on a railing cuz of the garbage navmesh, and teleported back to Ellis and got stuck themselves, leaving me to basically go get myself killed multiple times. The rescue system is pretty cool though, even if it isn't crazy or anything, I like the innovation of survivors being trapped in crates for whatever reason, even if it makes less sense than the cloest system haha. The finale bugged on me as after I hit the radio, rescue instantly arrived skipping the computer-finding section entirely, which didn't look like too much fun anyways, just to pan out the playtime (which was one chapter long, clocking in at, if you don't run into issues prolly around 20 minutes) The chapter was decent size though with a confusing layout, but arrows everywhere so you can't get lost. Definitely a cool map with some cool ideas, just poorly done with broken navmesh and a bugged finale on my end.

      Potential, but flawed

The detail and lighting are insane - above almost every other custom campaign you have ever seen. The location is pretty unique. But there are issues. The biggest one is the performance of your computer. I have only seen one other custom campaign reduce my computer to an unreasonable framerate - this one has some definite optimization problems. I really liked the idea of the computer search, but it was pretty long and became frustrating.
      • Both fair points... I do regret not fixing ze optimization and making ze finale bit more balanced...
I am retired from mapping... might come back one day...

      An Enjoyable Lark

Short but sweet- I cleared it in about 20 minutes my first try. Not sure I did the finale right because as soon as the copter arrives I was able to run over and board even though I hadn't finished looking yet. Either way, enjoyable and unique.

      Kinda boring and annoying

I don't think this map is that good. First off, with a name like The Neverglades you figure it would take place in the Everglades. It doesn't. It takes place on a ship. So why call it that? I don't get it. Anyways, your goal is to reach the control room on the other end of the ship, activate the radio, and wait for rescue. The radio doesn't work at first. You must run around the ship activating computers to restore functionality. The first time you see the number of computers you have to activate you're going to shit yourself. The sheer number of highlighted items on your screen will make you do a double take. There are common and special infected coming at you non-stop during this time. I found it mostly annoying, searching around for these computers with neverending zombies chasing you. It didn't feel very fun, just tedious. The finale is your standard two horde/tank event which was also very uninteresting. All you have to do is stay in the control room covering a few entrances and it's easy to beat.

The map has some optimization issues. It got VERY choppy during gameplay. I don't know if it was a specific area but it seemed like I was getting 5 frames/sec at times.

This map might be good for a play or two but you'll find it quickly gets dull after that. Not a keeper for me.
      • No need to apologize. It's not a badly made map (aside from some optimization issues) it just wasn't for me. I don't like running around looking for stuff while having non-stop zombies chasing me, blocking me, etc. I find it irritating lol. But other people might not mind. I didn't know there were going to be more maps. If it does eventually take place in the Everglades then I apologize for my hasty comments. I hope I didn't discourage you from wanting to create more stuff. It looks like you did put some effort into this. It's just not my cup of tea. Good luck!
      • I do apologize that you did not have a good time...
        .
I am working on an update to fix it up a bit... Namely the optimization and too change up the finale a bit to make it much less frustrating...
        .
Also... It is supposed to take place in Florida... but I still need to make the rest of the campaign... So I guess the name is admittedly meaningless for the moment...

Can't Wait for the Rest >^w^<

I swear, I only ever come back to see what you are up to insane, and every time I see something new from you, it does not disappoint.

      The Ship looks fantastic.
It is fun to play on.
There is like a bazillion many to get anywhere, yet I never actually got lost.
It runs fine on my end.
And dat finale. I used to love it when a finale threw in something unqiue, and it turns out I still do. ^w^

It is on the difficult side, and I did notice the bots majorly trying to a wall or two here and there.
And it is only one map! I WANT MORE! And survival, but you already said that was something on the your list of do.

I also PMed you a screenshot of the bots in action if that will help.
      • I got the screenshot... Looks like the survivor AI is trying to use an Infected ladder?... That can't be good... :\

End of results.
