Terms of use

  1. Community Posting

    • Any posts that contain the following content may be removed.

      • The use of foul language or hatred.
      • Negative intent, harassment and/or discrimination against an individual or group.
      • Non-game content is strictly prohibited on GameMaps.
      • Media such as thumbnails and screenshots must be related to the map/mod itself.
      • Spam is not tolerated here under any circumstance. This includes but is not limited to offering hosting services (charged and free), competitive services, solicitation, etc.
      • Recruiting members for your own projects (moderators, designers, professional MOD work, etc.) is not permitted and is also considered spam.
      • Public discussions are not a place to report users, discuss user behavior, or monitor user activity. Posting or engaging in such topics may have your post removed and account warned. Please report users through the appropriate channels.

  2. Publishing Content

    • Any content that contains the following content must be tagged as "Mature".

      • Close-up shots of breasts, buttocks, crotches.
      • Strategically covered nudity
      • Sheer or see-through clothing
      • Lewd or provocative poses

    • Content that is NOT allowed on GameMaps.com

      • Defamatory, torturous, or slanderous material.
      • Lotteries or gambling advertising.
      • Portraying illegal drugs.
      • Pornography is strictly prohibited.
      • Racism, hatred, or harm against any individual or group or nationality.
      • Copyrighted content or content without due credit.
      • Use of trademarks without permission.
      • Political statements including defamatory or critical remarks on a nation/persons ideology, beliefs, or human rights.
      • Anything that offends the community as a whole or reflects negativity against GameMaps including its reputation.

    • Additional terms that may affect your content.

      • All map submissions should be taken seriously and accurately filled out.
      • All maps must have 'gameplay' screenshots that show the actual map / campaign.
      • Unreleased maps must be periodically updated to prevent removal due to inactivity.
      • Intentionally adding maps not intended for development may have your account banned.
      • Content descriptions, text, tags, and media may be updated or removed by administrators to ensure site usability.
      • Content may be audited due to being flagged or reported by members/developers.

    • By publishing you confirm you understand and are entitled to grant the actions below, and that no rights of any third parties will be violated by GameMaps.

      • GameMaps Members can upload content resulting in distribution across the world.
      • The right of reproduction; The right of distribution, and The right to make publicly available.

  3. Avatars and Media

    • Avatars and shared media should NOT contain the prohibited content below.

      • Close-up shots of breasts, buttocks, crotches.
      • Strategically covered nudity
      • Sheer or see-through clothing
      • Lewd or provocative poses
      • Sexual fetishes (eg. Foot Fetish)
      • Defamatory, torturous, or slanderous material.
      • Lotteries or gambling advertising.
      • Portraying illegal drugs.
      • Racism, hatred, or harm against any individual or group or nationality.
      • Use of trademarks without permission.
      • Anything that offends the community as a whole.

  4. Reporting Content

    • Members can report content that breaks the terms of use.

      • Reported content may be edited or removed by staff if necessary.
      • Reported members may be audited for quality assurance.
      • Reported content may be abandoned or archived until resolved.
      • Accounts with numerous reports may become restricted.
      • Restricted accounts can contact support for a resolution.

  5. Download Conditions

    • Due to the third-party nature of custom content, downloaded content may have unexpected or undesired results.

      • Game images and screen shots may differ based on game settings and/or map versions and may not reflect the actual game experience.
      • Custom content may suddenly stop working, due to core changes from the game developers.
      • Always scan all downloads with anti-virus software using the latest virus definitions.
      • Unauthorized changes to any core game files and components may be prohibited by the game developer and may return undesired results.
      • GameMaps is not liable for any computer or 3rd party account issues before or after visiting, downloading, or referring to content on this site.

  6. Content Removal and Abandonment

    • Developers can abandon maps, mods or tools at any time to discontinue development.

      • Abandoned content will no longer be promoted or monetized on the site.
      • The file details page will still exist and is required to notify players that your content has been abandoned.
      • Once your add-on has been abandoned, it is at risk of being removed from our system within 60 days.
      • In some cases, add-ons can not be removed without written or verbal consent.
      • For quality assurance; abandoned listings may be edited or outsourced by an administrator.

  7. GameMaps VIP

    • VIP is an account upgrade that gives you access to exclusive areas and VIP features.

      • VIP features, prices, benefits, and options may be changed, improved, or removed at any time.
      • Using GameMaps VIP features in a manner that is not consistent with it's intent may result in the VIP upgrade being terminated without a refund.
      • All proceeds to VIP are put back into the sites development and operation costs.

  8. Payments and Deposits

    • We use a 3rd party payment processor.

      • No card or billing information is stored on our servers and this handled by a payment processor such as PayPal or Google.
      • You may need to verify with your bank whether or not you can make online payments with your credit/debit card.
      • Please contact your bank if you have issues making a payment.

  9. Private Messages

    • To deter spam and provide better communication to our community we have implemented a private message system.

      • Because messages are private, we are not able to read, search, or disclose any messages unless required by law.
      • If you encounter a message you do not want to read, simply press the delete button.
      • If you encounter a member you do not want messages from, you should social ban the user.

  10. Deleting Your Account

    • You have the option to remove your account from our system and database at any time.

      • You must know your password before deleting an account.
      • Deleting your account does not remove uploaded content.
      • Once your account has been marked for deletion it will automatically be removed within the deletion period.
      • VIP Members by default have 'account protection' and the account can not be deleted until after the VIP membership has expired.
      • After completing the delete account process, your account will be marked for removal.
      • To expedite the account removal process, please contact us.

  11. GameMaps Mediation and Oversight

    • GameMaps reserves the right to edit, remove or transfer content for any reason necessary.

      • Content can be edited, revised, transferred, removed, or altered by the GameMaps staff at any time without warning or notice.
      • GameMaps can deny any requests for changes, edits, and access to content for any member, including developers.
      • GameMaps can refuse to service, remove, repair, restore, modify, or alter an account, content, and any database data.
      • GameMaps may audit accounts and content automatically, randomly, or at our discretion to ensure Terms of Use compliance.
      • Disciplinary action against accounts that breaks the terms of use is at GameMaps discretion.
      • Staff, affiliates, associates and sponsors are not held responsible for any problems that occurred before or after downloading a file or visiting this site.
      • All comments, reviews, and ratings submitted on this site are the opinions of the individual users and do not necessarily reflect the views of GameMaps.com.
      • We reserve the right to remove any content that violates our posting terms or is deemed inappropriate.
      • By submitting a file, media, comment, review or rating on this site, you grant GameMaps.com a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, and fully sublicensable right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, and display such content throughout the world in any media.

  12. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability
